Cornea
The cornea is the clear tissue at the front of the eye. It allows the transmission of
light to the retina. The cornea is among the most densely innervated tissues of the body.
This becomes important especially when considering conditions such as corneal abrasions, and
refractive surgery such as PRK and LASIK, which are discussed further below. Other important
conditions affecting the cornea include dry eye syndrome, blepharitis, keratoconus, and Fuchs
dystrophy.
At Freehold Ophthalmology, we provide comprehensive treatment and preventative services for a
wide range of corneal conditions.
